Earth Day 2011

Environmental responsibility is everyone’s responsibility every day. Earth Day is the inspiration, the activation, and the beginning of a real commitment. Help inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment. We have to fight for the earth by restoring and replishing all the deterioration to the environment caused by oil spills, polluting factories and power plants, raw sewage, toxic dumps, pesticides, and freeways. How do you give back? Are you and your family eco-friendly? There are lots of easy things you can do in your own home and neighborhood to help save our earth, air, and water. Celebrate the Earth Day holiday by learning new ways to protect the environment...

Full Bloom :) Full Blast

Scalping is over and spring is in full bloom sooner than any of us may have expected. We are beginning mow schedules and fertilizing treatments this coming week. Spring has sprung upon us quickly and it seems May flowers have beaten the April showers. Make sure you are watering regularly due to our lack for rain. We recommend you water at most 2 times per week for 20 minutes each time or once a week on a double cycle for 15 minutes each time. Deep watering is best and is achieved by watering for shorter periods of time in separated intervals to avoid run off.

Flowers will be here soon and we are look forward to another wonderful summer with all of you!

DONT get scammed on a SCALP

2 more weeks~~~Don't miss out
Dethatching is the most important thing you can do for your yard all year long. If you do nothing else at least provide this service. Make sure you're getting what you pay for and don't be fooled by the term scalping; this is nothing more than an expensive mow. All bermuda yards in Lubbock must be DETHATCHED correctly to reap the benefits. When it is done correctly the process removes all the thatch (dead grass) that has collected over the winter so your yard can grow properly throughout the year. When thatch is left in your yard the grass runners will be forced to grow above debris that cannot deteriorate because of our dry West Texas climate. Removing the thatch allows the grass runners to root into the dirt, giving you a much healthier lawn all year long. When all the thatch has been removed only then can you SCALP the yard properly.
We want to make sure it's clear...
Scalping is nothing more than cutting the grass runners to the lowest level possible to restart your yards growth like new every year and it is pointless if you have not dethatched!
ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR SO MAKE SURE YOU PAY FOR DETHATCHING
BEWARE OF SCALPERS YOU MIGHT AS WELL BURN YOUR $$$

TREE TRIMMING

TREE TRIMMING while trees are dormant has many advantages. During winter the trees sap moves downward towards the bottom of the tree. This causes less stress on the tree and promotes healthier growth in the spring. In addition, it minimizes the chances of a tree developing a disease.

New Begining for 2011

Celebrate Xmas and bring in the New Year with fragrant indoor flowers. Paperwhites can easily be grown indoors and are the perfect centerpiece at your holiday festivities. Bloom in as few as 3 weeks and they are so simple anyone can grow them.1.Place bulbs in your favorite planter, coffee cup or bowl. Clear glass is preferred if you want to watch  them grow. 2. Fill the container with rocks (large-small) 3. Place bulbs in a tight bunch at the top.   4.  Add water until it touches the bottom of the bulbs.

Approaching 2011 we have had a late season to say the least. With temperatures in the 70's through November and continuing into December, its not feeling much like Christmas. Hunter has taken full advantage of the extra time by mounting the elite power vacuum on a new 24ft trailer.
